North Carolina was once known as the education state and at that time I proudly served on the Governor’s Commission on Education for Economic Growth. Our teachers are now ranked 29th in the nation for teacher pay. That’s not good enough and we can move our teacher salaries toward the national average if we stop giving tax breaks to corporations and the wealthy.
